Katie and Sam – 17 November 2019

I promise you years of homemade love and music

I promise to often try to sing in tune

I promise to always try to make you laugh

I promise to try and laugh at your jokes

I promise to make our life our adventure

I promise you, me

One of the beautiful things about being a celebrant is meeting all the wonderful people at various weddings and then marrying other whanau members! Katie and Sam are friends who I have picked up at other weddings and it was amazing to be asked to officiate their wedding day at the Lake Ferry Hotel. It was also a special one for me as they were my 200th couple I have officiated for, and it was amazing to do it for friends. #blessed

It was so much fun writing this ceremony and going back and forth with Sam and Katie about their love story and having many giggles in between. The ceremony we ended up with was PERFECT; it was full of laughter and references to fur children Basildog and Maiseycat. These two love to travel to all corners of the earth – in fact, their wedding outfits were made a month before the wedding when they were travelling through Vietnam (A Dong Silk and Blue Eye Tailor)! Both Katie and Sam are in the health field, so I obviously made ambulance noises through the ceremony: neenooneenooneenoo.

Ryan McCauley Photography and I have worked together for many weddings and he seems to have a curse this season that every wedding he works, doesn’t feature sun! Katie and Sam’s day was no exception but luckily the south coast is an amazing spot for moody photos, the rain was intermittent, and Ryan is blooming amazing at these shots. I had to hold myself back from posting ALL their shots because they were all stunning (helps when you have such a gorgeous groom and bride, and their squad, to work with!).

Also shout out to their other vendors that pulled together their special day: Jenna’s Cupcakes; Jo Hall for make up; and Georgia Armitage for hair.

Testimonial: Miranda was the celebrant at a couple of my friends’ weddings and we decided there was never any other option but to have her at ours too. She is light hearted and not too serious, and created the most perfect, relaxed and personalised ceremony for us. She was organised, reassuring and fun! She was always on hand and quick to reply to any wedding related questions I had. I can’t imagine our wedding without her. We had plenty of comments on how good she was and how perfectly the ceremony suited us as a couple. It was an honour to be your 200th married couple 😀
