“My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep. The more I give thee, the more I have, for both are infinite.”- William Shakespeare
This wedding was so so much fun! It all come together so well … The setting – a remote camp in the whops of Wainuiomata where the guests stayed overnights in campervans and cabins – the theme – pirates and the sea – and the couple were wanted to celebrate their love in such a fun way with their loved ones of all ages! The photos remind me how many laughs I had on the day!
Thanks Rachel and Andy for such a fun fun wedding; I’m going to steal so many ideas for the future!
Where: Brookfield Outdoor Education Venue, Wainuiomata
Dress: Sophie Voon Bridal, Wellington
Photographer: Mainly Weddings Photography, Hamilton
Hire decorations/table settings etc: Ariana at HitschKitsch based in Cannons Creek has a crazy collection of eclectic cool stuff. Good value, unprententious and easy to deal with.
Hair and make-up: A bit of a splurge at Belle Rouge, Wellington
Cake maker: Tania at Royal Icing Academy, Wellington did an amazing job (check out the photo below).
Jeweller: Fantastic jeweller based in Newtown – Odette Anscombe-Smith. Rachel had her mother’s old worn-down wedding ring which Odette took to an engraver to bring out the original engravings and then searched high and low to find a diamond setting of the same era. Highly recommended for anyone wanting something beautiful and original.
Music: Excellent gypsy sailor music by The Raskolnikovs, Wellington (value for money! $1200 for 2 hours for 5 band members who drunk whiskey with the guests afterwards).
Testimonial: “Miranda was a huge asset to our wedding. She provided helpful assistance with planning, and was there to relax frazzled nerves and help things run smoothly on the day. Most of all she brought a sense of humour and helped with providing the fun relaxed vibe we wanted for our ceremony. I would thoroughly recommend Miranda as a wedding celebrant to anyone.” ….
