Grace and Andrew – Nelson – 17 December 2011

Grace is pretty much to blame for my throw-away-after-a-few-vinos statement “I want to be a wedding celebrant” becoming a reality! So it was fitting that my first ceremony that I officiated was for two of my closest friends back in Nelson (my turangawaewae; where I grew up). In the week leading up to the wedding, Nelson was hit by a huge storm and caused massive landslips and flooding. Grace and Andy’s first choice wedding venue was in a meadow behind the beautiful historic Fairfield House, but two days before the wedding we discovered that there was now a river running through it! Not a big hassle though  as the sun came out on the day (we couldn’t have planned it better!), and it was a delightful ceremony in the courtyard of Fairfield House with English high tea served and kiwiana place-settings with badges as wedding favours. A fantastic time was had by all!!

Testimonial: “We recommend Miranda to anyone and everyone! From the amount of time and effort that was put into the planning, to helping us prepare, to calming nerves and supplying tissues, to doing such a beautiful job on the day she was all that we could’ve wished for in a celebrant. Not a single person at our wedding who didn’t already know could’ve guess it was her first time, she was cool, calm and collected and delivered a beautiful and very special service. She also has a wealth of contacts and knowledge about weddings all over the country and is a very handy person to have around if you’re planning your big day! Thank you SO much 🙂 “
