I’m blessed and honoured to be part of so many couples’ wedding day. Some days are big and busy, while others are done with quiet reverence with only a few select people there to witness a special union.
To legally get married in New Zealand you only need five people to be present – the couple, the celebrant (ME!) and two witnesses. This top-secret elopement had SIX people present as we organised a student photographer as a witness and my husband (and my baby sidekick!) came as the second witness.
I can’t show any identifying photos as this is secret to this beautiful couple, but I can hint that this was a touching, intimate ceremony with singing and shared seafood at The Lighthouse in Island Bay (did you know you can stay in a lighthouse for a night?!). Darrell of DMNichol Photography was a great witness and shared some lovely shots with me.
Kia hora te marino; kia whakapapa pounamu te moana; kia tere te karohirohi i mua i tou huarahi
May the calm be widespread; may the surface of the ocean glisten like the greenstone; and may the shimmer of summer dance across your path forever.
