Amber and Nick – 7 March 2020

I treasure the support and pep talks you give me everyday, as well as the comfort in knowing that you will always have my back. I truly appreciate the way that you always listen to me and give me guidance. You have taught me so much about getting things done in a quiet and efficient manner and are very humble with regard to your many personal, academic and working life successes.

I promise to … Always be as excited to see you as I would be to see a cat. I promise to … Laugh at all your puns, even the ones I have heard a million times before. I promise to … Let you drag me to see every single Marvel movie. You are always the highlight of my day, you are my best friend, you are perfect.

Nine months ago we attended a very special whanau wedding at The Brigham in Auckland. My cousin, Amber, married her high school beau, Nick. I felt so honoured to lead their wedding ceremony while looking out at their village and seeing so many friendly faces staring back and sending their love to these two. This is why I am a celebrant.

Nick and Amber’s wedding day was such a family affair and everyone pooled their skills to help make this day special – the young girls being flower girls; the mums doing readings; Nick’s mum making the delish cake; Amber’s parents lending them their special caravan as a photographic background; family singing them a love song during the signing of the register; and their family and friends cheering Mr and Mrs Baker along every step of their journey.

So much has happened since March, and I get a wee bit emotional looking through these photos. The amount of love that I have for these two is immeasurable and I’m so excited to visit their newly purchase home, which no doubt will be fulled with cats if Nick has anything to do with it! Thank you Amber and Nick for trusting me to do you proud on your special day (and I hope you liked the surprise Disney shout-out!). xo

The biggest shout out to the amazing Sarah Weber Photography for these special photographs. I obviously found it VERY difficult to cull the photos down to a manageable few, so you’re all going to have to forgive me for the wedding spam. #sorrynotsorry

Testimonial: “Ever since we had even first thought of getting engaged, we knew that we wanted my amazing cousin, Miranda Zander, to be our celebrant. I am incredibly lucky to not only have Miranda as a “almost sister”, but to have her knowledge and support throughout our journey was so awesome. Miranda was so helpful with providing guidance around writing vows, special readings for the ceremony and we were blown away by her professionalism and organisation during our rehearsal and ceremony. We had a large wedding party and the cutest flower girls and Miranda was able to effortlessly conduct everyone so they all knew their part to play. Our ceremony was so special as Miranda had written such a moving, personalised transcript that perfectly described our love story. Miranda had also organised the most amazing surprise reading where our guests would randomly pop up and read lines from my favourite Disney songs!! Miranda, thank you so much from Nick and I for all of your support and guidance- we love you!”
